Dr. Shonteral Redmond
Dr. Shonteral Redmond completed her undergraduate education at Florida State University in her hometown of Tallahassee, Florida in 2009. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee as a member of the Class of 2016. Dr. Redmond aka Dr. Shon went on to further her education by completing a General Practice Residency at the Brooklyn Hospital Center in New York City. In her free time, Dr. Shon enjoys, learning about the fascinating world of dentistry, spending time with her fiance’, and traveling the world. She states, “My purpose in life is to inspire disadvantaged youth to follow their dreams and she aims to help patients realize the importance of their teeth before it’s too late to save them.”
Dr. Shahbaz (Boz) Katebzadeh
Dr. Boz finished pediatric residency in July 2020 at St. Barnabas Hospital. Dr. Boz received his dental education at Western University of Health Sciences, College of Dental Medicine in California, Pomona in 2015. He then moved to New York City to complete his general practice residency in 2016. After that he moved back to Los Angeles and worked as an associate at Dr. Gregory Robins family practice, where he gained experience in all fields of dentistry from pediatric to oral surgery.
Since dental school Dr. Boz had an interest in the field of pediatric dentistry, but working as a general dentist in a family practice helped him to reassure that. Therefore, in 2018 he returned to St. Barnabas hospital for continuing his education in the field of pediatric dentistry. Dr. Boz developed an interest in research during his undergraduate study at California State University, Fullerton. He worked at two different laboratories learning different research techniques from ELISA-based tests, to Western Blotting. In 2015, Dr. Boz was a co-author in three peer-reviewed publications, and has been involved in research spanning from role of squamous cell carcinoma in head and neck to Oral microbiota in a metabolic syndrome patients.
Dr. Boz considers himself lucky to be able to practice dentistry in a field where he feel most passionate about, pediatric, and he looks forward to treating and providing oral healthcare to families wherever he works. In his spare time Dr. Boz has a passion for painting with different mediums, and sculpting and spending time with his cat, Bella.
Dr. Edmund Charles Eckstein
Born and raised in Metropolitan New York, Dr. Eckstein received his Bachelors Degree in Biological Sciences in 1966 from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree in 1972 from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (now Rutgers School of Dental Medicine) in Newark, New Jersey. In 1975 he established his own private general dental practice in Tenafly, New Jersey, which he maintained for 30 years. During that time in Bergen County, he had full admitting privileges at Englewood Hospital in Englewood, New Jersey, where he was active in hospital-based dental care. He also served as Co-Director of the Handicapped Dental Program at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, New Jersey, where he provided dental treatment in the Operating Rooms of the hospital. He was the founder of Healthcare Affiliates, Inc, a forensic consulting firm providing consultants and expert witnesses to private attorneys and dental boards throughout the United States. He was a lecturer in risk management, and authored a course entitled “Dentistry and the Law,” presented to dental and legal professionals throughout the United States, as well as being a consultant in forensic dentistry to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the City of New York. He was a Dental Officer (GS13) in the Department of Health and Human Services, served for two months at the World Trade Center attack of 9/11, and was a founding forensic dental/odontology consultant for the Department of Homeland Security, established subsequent to the attack on the World Trade Center on 9/11/01. He has a total of 25 publications and presentations of learned treatises and book chapters.
After merging his private general dental practice with another, Dr Eckstein moved to Upstate New York to continue his dental career on a significantly less hectic basis. His primary diversion is motorcycle riding and touring over the many serpentine roads that this area has to offer, very often accompanied by his wife Jeanne, an avid motorcycle enthusiast in her own right. When not on two wheels, you will often find them on two legs, hiking and enjoying the beautiful scenery and terrain of Upstate New York and the rest of the world.
